PERFECT LOVE

Someone wrote the following description of true love:

Slow to suspect—quick to trust

Slow to condemn—quick to justify

Slow to offend—quick to defend

Slow to expose—quick to shield

Slow to reprimand—quick to forbear

Slow to belittle—quick to appreciate

Slow to demand—quick to give

Slow to provoke—quick to conciliate

Slow to hinder—quick to help

Slow to resent—quick to forgive.

No doubt, this description reminds us of the one given by Paul in 1 Corinthians: “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (1 Corinthians 13:4–7).

“The greatest of these is love.” 1 CORINTHIANS 13:13
